1. Copyright Ownership

The American Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems follows an author-retained copyright model.

  • Authors retain full copyright of their published articles.

  • The journal does not claim ownership of the intellectual property.

  • Authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article.

2. Licensing Terms

All articles published in the journal are licensed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)

This license permits:

  • Use, sharing, copying, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format

  • Adaptation and reuse, including for commercial purposes

Provided that:

  • Proper credit is given to the original author(s)

  • A link to the license is provided

  • Any changes made are clearly indicated

3. Rights Granted to the Journal

By submitting and publishing an article, authors grant the journal the right to:

  • Publish the article in electronic and print formats

  • Assign and register a Crossref DOI

  • Archive and preserve the article

  • Distribute the article through indexing databases, repositories, and third-party platforms

These rights are non-exclusive and do not restrict the authors’ own use of the work.

4. Author Rights

Authors are free to:

  • Share the published article on personal websites, institutional repositories, and academic networks

  • Deposit the final published version in open repositories without embargo

  • Use the article for teaching, conference presentations, and future works

  • Reuse parts of the article in books or other publications with proper citation

5. Third-Party Material

  • Authors must obtain written permission for any third-party content (figures, tables, images, datasets) not covered by CC BY

  • The journal is not responsible for copyright infringements caused by authors

6. Attribution Requirement

All reuse of published content must include:

7. Copyright Infringement and Disputes

  • Allegations of copyright infringement are taken seriously

  • The journal will investigate complaints in line with COPE guidelines

  • Proven violations may result in corrections, retractions, or removal of content
